Ignore Your Environment And Face Your Fears
Co-founding the National Dream Roundup has
produced many blessings in my life. It has given me a purpose and is making a
difference in other people's lives. It has provided an opportunity to associate
with great people.
One such person is fellow Dream Team member,
Philippe Matthews. I first met Philippe in Toronto at a 3% Club meeting.
Philippe was a featured presenter who quickly became the hit of the 3-day
meeting. He shared his personal life story, and it moved me profoundly. It was
one of the greatest days of my life when I interviewed Philippe for his Dream
Roundup CD "How To Reinvent Yourself to Pursue Your Dream".
When you are born into this world, there are
several things you can't control. You can't control who your parents are. You
can't control where you are born. And, you can't control the surroundings in
which you live. You start in this world completely dependent upon the people
around you. To be born in America is a blessing beyond belief compared to many
other parts of the world.
Philippe Matthews was born on November 14,
1965, on the South side of Chicago, in the housing projects. Both of his parents
died when he was a young child. He lived a life of poverty surrounded by drug
and alcohol addiction and gang violence. Probably not the place most of us would
choose to start our lives. He had plenty of reasons to fail. He had wealth
of great excuses not to be successful. But Philippe prevailed and became a
leading infopreneur and motivational speaker. How did he do it?
When I interviewed Philippe, he revealed two
secrets that changed his life. First secret: Create a dream of your perfect
life, no matter what your current circumstances are. Philippe reprogrammed his
mind by watching television. Not the garbage that most people watched, but every
episode of "Life Styles of the Rich and Famous" hosted by Robin Leach. Philippe
taped every show and watched them over and over and over again. His day-to-day
reality was drugs and gangs, but his dream was the life of the Rich and Famous.
Philippe reprogrammed his thinking to believe that he too could live that
lifestyle.
Philippe's second secret: Face and embrace
your fears. The path to your dream requires change. That's because the solution
lies outside your current circumstances. That means change is unavoidable. There
were two distinct times when Philippe faced his fears, and each time they were a
springboard for his growth. Whatever you fear is your next breakthrough. Embrace
that fear and you will render it powerless. Philippe now lives the dream he
envisioned years ago, And, he influences thousands and thousands of people
across the United States.
Write out your dream, believe it is real,
face and embrace your fears, and watch the magic happen in your life. Late this
week I asked Philippe if he would offer his books at a discount to Dream Roundup
subscribers. Look for his offer later this week. I have read both books and
gleaned great value from them. Philippe is an inspiration to us all.
