Robert W. Spear |

Rob Spear likes to surround himself with people. When Rob walks into a room, he fills the room with his energy, passion, and humor. Literally thousands have been engaged in the experience of listening to Rob’s philosophy of life, both personally and professionally. His delivery is inspirational and enthusiastic. He sets an atmosphere of comfort and touches the souls of many.
Rob learned the importance of working with people at a very young age. He grew up where business was discussed frequently at the dining room table. The family-owned hardware store provided conversation about values, customer service, and work ethics that Rob would later use to develop his own approach for staff development and effectiveness.
Rob’s desire to enrich the lives of individuals and families surfaced when he started Deliberate Directions in 1999. Rob’s natural passion for enhancing the lives of families and professionals has led him to build techniques and strategies that everyone can use and understand. Rob has changed the lives of many by turning around not only families but also major businesses and industries.
“We must understand the importance of bringing value to ourselves … because only then can we bring value to other relationships”.

Daniel S. Hayes, Ph.D. |
|
Mission Statement:
Because nobody comes into my office to tell me how wonderful life is, I've had the opportunity to study the problems that stand in the way of happiness and success, and although I've worked with a wide range of individuals - some profoundly troubled and some who need only a bit of steering - there is a common thread: a handful of skills we all need to "make it" in life. They're essential if we are to maximize pleasure, be happy, be successful, and make a positive difference in the world. A person who lacks just one of these skills will struggle to some degree to maintain healthy relationships, manage personal and professional life, make wise decisions, and raise well adjusted children. Ironically, these skills are not formally taught - in fact, they're not even recognized - and most everybody emerges from his or her family with some degree of imbalance: adept at some skills, completely missing others. The joy in my work comes in teaching these skills to people who are motivated and eager to learn - they know, on some level, that something is missing. Watching them light up with insight, absorb what they need, and use it to improve their lives is one of my greatest professional rewards.
